Blackwater is a town in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It’s a great place to visit if you’re looking for some relaxation and peace. The town has many different places to explore, but we’ll be focusing on five of our favorites here: Blackwater River Park, Miro’s Cultural Center, Main Street Blackwater and Blackwater State Forest (as well as other nearby hiking trails).
1. Blackwater River Park
Blackwater River Park is a great place to visit, it’s a great place to take your family and friends. You can go there with your dog too! The park has lots of activities for kids and adults alike. There’s even an event hall where you can watch movies or play games like foosball or air hockey.
It’s also great if you want to get some fresh air while spending time outdoors at the Blackwater River Park. If you want some exercise, try hiking up one of their many trails that wind through the forests surrounding this area!
2. Miro’s Cultural Center
Miro’s Cultural Center is a cultural center that offers a variety of programs for all ages. The center’s mission statement states: “Miro’s Cultural Center will be a place where people can come together to learn, create and experience new things. We hope to provide opportunities for cultural exchange through education and entertainment so that our community can grow stronger together.”
The center offers many different types of activities at their two locations—one in Blackwater Village and one in Central Park near downtown Blackwater. They offer classes on everything from dance instruction to art appreciation; they also host several events throughout each year such as music festivals and film festivals among others (see below).
3. Main Street Blackwater
Blackwater is an important town in the state of Georgia. It was founded in 1824, and its location at the intersection of two major roads helped it become one of Georgia’s earliest settlements. The area around Blackwater has long been considered a strategic location by both Native Americans and Europeans alike, making it an ideal spot for exploration and settlement.
The town itself has many historical sites that tell us about this history—the oldest existing building here dates back to 1800! The main street was originally named Main Street because it ran through this main part of town; however over time people began referring to it as Main Street instead because they felt like its name had been forgotten by time (and perhaps even lost).
Today there are many restaurants serving delicious food from around the world here at Main Street Blackwater; some examples include Mama Cora’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria which offers freshly made pasta dishes every day along with other delicious options such as pizzas made from scratch daily! This place also has live bands playing on weekends so if you’re looking for something fun do check them out sometime soon!
4. Blackwater State Forest
The Blackwater State Forest is a great place to go hiking, fishing and camping. There are many trails that you can walk or bike on in this beautiful state park. The forest has many different kinds of trees including pine trees, oak trees and cypress trees. The forest also has beautiful flowers growing there like wildflowers and sunflowers which make it so colorful during the springtime when they bloom!
The best part about visiting the Blackwater State Forest is that it’s only about an hour away from downtown Birmingham so if you’re looking for something fun to do while visiting our city then this place should definitely be added onto your list!
5. The Old County Jail
The Old County Jail is the oldest building in Blackwater and was built in 1883. It’s a popular tourist attraction, so you can expect to see a lot of people visiting this historic site. You will also find a museum on the first floor where you can learn about Blackwater’s history by reading old documents, looking at artifacts and watching videos about life during its heyday as one of Alabama’s largest towns.
The jail itself has been renovated several times over the years; however, it still retains its original architecture with thick bricks lining both sides of narrow corridors that lead down into cells where prisoners once lived before being transported further south for trial or sentencing (depending upon their crimes).

If someone asks how much it costs? I would say that it depends on how many people are traveling with you but if there were just two of us (me and my wife), then we would pay around $20 per person per hour plus tip.
