St Paul’s was originally built by local craftsmen who were employed by architect Alfred Waterhouse (1803-1875) to create his new designs following his appointment as headmaster of Rugby School in 1848. Once completed this beautiful building became one of Camberley’s most important landmarks; however, due to financial constraints during World War Two there were plans made by local residents who wanted them restored before this could happen so instead they installed temporary scaffolding around it instead until further notice when money did become available again.”
Camberley Heritage Walk
The Camberley Heritage Walk is a two-mile route that runs through the town, connecting several landmarks and sites to tell the story of Camberley. It’s free to walk along, and you can do so every day during daylight hours (except Wednesday). The Heritage Walk includes some of Camberley’s most famous buildings, including St Mary’s Church and Trinity School.
The walkway itself is wheelchair accessible via ramps at each end which will allow you access to all areas except for Trinity School where there are steps instead. There is also plenty of parking available close by so you won’t have far to go when walking along this route!
