Top Places to visit In Slough UK

Tooting is one of the oldest areas in London and its history goes back to Roman times. It was once a place for farmers and tradesmen, but now it’s become one of the most popular areas for tourists from all over the world thanks to its many sights and places to visit.

Orchid Road

Orchid Road is a street in Tooting, London and the London Borough of Wandsworth. It runs between King Street to the south-west and Upper Tooting Road to the north-east. The closest London Underground stations are Streatham Hill (Northern Line) and Streatham Common (District Line).

Orchid Road was named after Orchid House which was built on this land in 1738. The house belonged to Sir Richard Fanshawe who served as Lord Mayor of London from 1737 until his death in 1738 at age 63. He was buried at St Olave Old Jewry but his tombstone has since been removed by order of Parliament during its Parliamentary Session following complaints about its costliness.

Battersea Power Station

Battersea Power Station is a former power station in Battersea, London. It was the first major power station built in the United Kingdom. The station was constructed as part of a government-sponsored public works programme to provide electricity for Londoners and was opened by King George VI on 7th June 1933, with one million visitors attending its opening ceremony.

The station was operated by Associated Electrical Industries from 1947 until it closed down at midnight on 31st August 1965; since then it has been used for storage purposes. In 2003 an exhibition centre (the Power Station Museum) opened within its walls which displays some of its original machinery as well as other artefacts related to their history such as photographs taken during construction work and drawings made by architects during planning stages.

Wandsworth Common

Wandsworth Common is a large green space in Wandsworth, London. It is home to many different species of birds and animals, including ducks, swans and herons. There are also deer roaming around the area who are looking for some food!

The lake on Wandsworth Common is one of the most popular places for birdwatching because you can see all kinds of creatures swimming around or resting on its banks. There are many species that live here including: ducks (great crested), Canada geese (Canada goose), kingfishers, terns and grebes which make it a wonderful place for anyone who wants to see some wildlife while they’re out walking their dogs or jogging around this park!

Tooting Bec Common

Tooting Bec Common is a large open space in Tooting, South London. It’s an ideal place for walking and cycling, with lots of trees and wildlife. The Common also has an active community who regularly organise events such as the Autumn Festival (celebrating the changing of the seasons), which takes place every year on St George’s Day (25th April).

It’s an excellent place to go if you want to run or cycle along miles of paths that wind through various parks and nature reserves. You can even cycle over some bridges! There are plenty of benches where you can sit down while watching birds fly overhead or listening to people playing football at one end of the park; but if this isn’t your thing then why not try something new by joining one of their weekly sessions for beginners?

South Lambeth Cemetery

South Lambeth Cemetery is a friendly place to visit. The cemetery is a good place to visit on a sunny day, as it will be full of people walking around enjoying the weather. If you are visiting on an overcast or rainy day, there won’t be many people around so it will feel like your own private retreat!

On windy days at South Lambeth Cemetery you might experience strong gusts that can make walking difficult and uncomfortable. On such days we recommend staying away from the gravesites and taking shelter under some trees instead (we have some great ones here!).

Takeaway:

Tooting is a great place to visit, but it’s also the perfect location for a takeaway. You can have fun and eat at your favorite restaurant, or you can get something delivered straight to your home so that you don’t have to leave the house.

The takeaway has been around forever, but it’s still a popular choice today because there are so many options available—and they’re all delicious!

Traveling in Tooting with Tooting Taxis

If you’re traveling in Tooting, and you need a taxi, then look no further than Taxis Tooting. They have a wide range of taxis that can be used for any occasion and they are reliable, affordable and safe to use. The drivers are friendly, knowledgeable and professional at all times.
